Emmy's Red Carpet Recap

Overall I was pretty disappointed in the Emmy's Red Carpet looks this evening. Don't get me wrong, everyone looked stunning but just slightly boring. I mean all that black and navy... yawn!

There were a few ladies that stood out for me and because there were not too many "overall" looks I liked and this is an accessories blog afterall I break down my FAV. accessories looks from the show below. What do you think? Who was your fav?

1) Lea Michele in Lorraine Schwartz Statement Necklace and Oscar de la Renta Gown

2) Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen and vintage bangles
* the dress I could do without but the modern mix of gold and stone bangles on both arms is hot and current look that you don't always see on the red carpet

3) Kim Kardashian in Lorraine Schwartz Woven Cuff and Marchesa Gown

5) Eva Longoria Parker in Loren Jewels Ruby Earrings and Robert Rodriquez Gown

Weekend Bling - 8/28 - 8/29

Deco Slide Lock
Today's Daily Bling is in honor of tomorrow night's Emmy Awards. Judith Leiber is undoubtedly the go to designer for the clutches we see all the starlets on the red carpet wearing season after season. Her unique crystal designs are loved by celebs and socialites alike and although these clutches are just a dream for us (they go from anywhere upwards of $1k) they certainly scream Hollywood drama.

We predict a young Hollywood star (Lea Michelle from Glee perhaps?) would rock something along the lines of this new "Deco Clutch" from Leiber herself tomorrow evening. The golden and black art deco crystal pattern is young and trendy but still classicly Judith Leiber and red carpet appropriate.

We will be live tweeting all of our favorite looks from the red carpet during tomorrow's red carpet at @HollyBerness so make sure to follow!

Crystal lanyard necklace

If you are a regular reader of BBB then you know how much I look forward to recieving the new J. Crew catalog every month. The September J. Crew catalog came through my mail on Monday and oh how luxe it is! I am getting really excited for Fall and this delivery made me even more excited!

I was pleased to see the increased amount of jewelry featured in September (as oppossed to the one page we get usually). My favorite trend featured? The luxe crystal necklaces strung on equally feminine materials like chiffon, and woven, tasseled cotton. Most of these necklace were pretty pricey ($100+) but this little lovely is much more affordable at $55. A steal for the style if you ask us!

Check today's bling and all of J.Crew's beautiful pieces for Fall and let us know what you are lusting after.

Daily Bling - Tuesday, August 24

I'm love, love, lovin' these edgy-chic Vixen "drop-studs" (I think I may be coining the term for the mix of studs and drops that these lovely earring are) by CC Skye. The perfect piece to add some Fall edge and savvy to your wardrobe, the Vixen earring is just so HOT, don't you think?

We think these elonged 18k gold studs would look fabulous with a black tie look for an Autumn Soiree (we are picturing them as the perfect partner to a black backless gown - maybe on Anna Paquin at the Emmy's?) but they would look equally fab with jeans, motorcycle-style boots and a burn-out tee.

The CC Skye Vixen Earrings are $100 and available at ShopBop.

Fall Trends 2010: In The Military

I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad to say this, but it's inevitable. Fall is right around the corner! Every Monday for the rest of August and early September I'll be starting a new series on the blog called "Fall Trends Report 2010." Regardless of not wanting to give up the beach or the pool, I am pretty excited for some Fall fashion.

One of my favorite trends of the season is the military look. Combat boots (heeled or flat) and camo are both making comebacks the season. How do you soften the look so its not too hard or edgy? With feminine materials like silk and soft cotton and pretty gemstone jewelry.

In the Military Breakdown:
  • Madewell Sandwashed Silk Tank in Grey/ $68
  • Michael Michael Kors Charlton Cross Body Bag in Black/ $128
  • J. Crew Femme Camo Delancy Skinny Pant (one of my newly acquired fav. pieces of the season)/ $79.50
  • J. Crew Fenton/Fallon Jaws Necklace/ $135
  • Steve Madden Commbat Boots/ $99.50

Daily Bling - Thursday, August 19

I recently discovered Miriam Salat's gorgeous bohemian inspired jewelry on Gilt Groupe (sale ended yesterday if you missed it but knowing Gilt I'm sure she'll be back again) and sorta fell in love. I wanted to find out more about the line so I googled, and to my pleasant surprise found out the queen of bochic had a line for HSN as well. Affordable costume jewlery from a reputable and renowned designer? What could be better!

My favorite item from the HSN collection is this pretty, feminine Starburst ring. It reminds me of the embellished resin cuffs and rings she features in her couture collection which makes it even more of a style steal. This ultimate statement ring is truly fit for Hollywood's ultimate boho gals. I mean can't you just picture Nicole Richie or Vanessa Hudgens rocking this with lots of bangles and a flirty, shimmering evening frock on a red carpet?

This must-have from Miriam's line is only $50 on HSN.com and as always there is easy-pay. Yep, you can thank me later for this super chic find! :)

Every woman deserves to be a queen, right? Well, with this adorable ring from Rachel Rachel Roy, you certainly can be. From Rachel's new Fall 2010 line, the "crown" ring makes a pretty, feminine edition to any Fall look.

Antique gold and Swarovski-crystalled, the ring is sweet and fun without being overly "girly." It's a great go-to piece to wear everyday - from work to play!

The crown ring is available for pre-order, amongst other great new Rachel Rachel Roy styles, on her website now for $40.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS "Lydia" Necklace, 47"L

I really enjoy this funky/casual necklace by Marc by Marc Jacobs. Fun, vibrant and relaxed its the perfect bling for a Friday! Marc by Marc Jacobs is one of my all time fav. designers and this piece just screams Jacob's signature playful yet ultra modern/utilitarian style.

This is the perfect necklace to pair with the ultimate season-less go to outfit: skinny jeans and a white tee. The bright pink shoelace string chain and resin bolts in a rainbow of fall's hottest colors (orange, cobalt blue and khaki green) add just the right amount of pzazz, color and style to a simple look.

The Marc By Marc Jacobs "Lydia" necklace is $195 and available at Bloomingdales.

Trina Turk Snake Chain Cabochon Necklace

When we think of jewelry we love we don't normally think of the name Trina Turk. However, the Palm Beach Queen has created a unique line of statement pieces that are just as much chic as they are "beach." Great pieces to take you from summer to fall, we are oh so pleasantly surprised by these on-trend pieces and unique designs.

Our favorite? This black and gold statement necklace from the line called the "Snake-Chain Cabochon." A little bit retro (which great Trina Turk piece isn't?) yet decidely sophisticated, this necklace would make a classy statement on a shift dress in Fall's favorite neutral - camel - or look just the right edgy chic with a black leather skirt and sky-high heels.

This Trina Turk statement necklace is available at Bloomingdales for $248.

Trend Alert! The Statement Shoe

LEIGHTON MEESTER photo | Leighton Meester

I was lucky enough to attend last night's Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles for the brand I represent. I had a blast meeting some of my favorite celebs including the guys from Glee, Twilight cast and many more! My favorite occupational perk? Trend-spotting, of course!

I love the teen stars because they aren't afraid to take risks! Lot of jewelry, fun makeup and the biggest trend of the evening? The Statement shoe of course! The look for the evening was all about the mini-dress, with a sky-high heel often embellished, strappy and platformed.

My favorite look of the night was gorgeous Leighton Meester's lace mini and Loubotin combo above. But I also loved these statement shoes on some of Hollywood's most promising starlets!

GOLD EVIL EYE CUFF
Who doesn't love a good designer collaboration? Kara Ross, one of our favorite jewelry designers, has teamed up with Tory Burch, one of our favorite accessories designers, for a limited edition line of jewelry available now at ToryBurch.com. The collection featured various abstract takes on the classic "evil eye" symbol taking form in resin and metal cuffs, rings, earrings and even a statement bib necklace made of a bizillion little evil eyes.

Our favorite from the line? This super cool gold, blue and white resin cuff. At first glance we didn't even realize it was an evil eye, which is part of the reason we love the look. It's an out of the box take on the classic symbol we see in charm jewelry all the time.

Check out the collection and this cuff now ($295) at Tory Burch online.

Daily Bling - Thursday, August 5

Just in time for my new found obsession with statement earrings, Kim Kardashian unveils her new line of earrings for Loren Jewels called "Kim Kollection" (yes that's collection with a K). Although pricing is not yet available on the website, we hear that the pieces will be at the fine designer jewelry price point ranging from about 10 - 40K.

My favorite in the "Kollection"? These diamond and ruby stunners above. Featuring nearly 19 carats of diamonds and 20 carats of rubies I'm pretty certain these will be out of our price range but lust-worthy none-the-less.

What do you think of Kim's new collection? Would you spend 10K for earrings designed by Kim K?

Daily Bling - Tuesday, August 3

Okay, so maybe I am coming around to the idea of wearing big earrings more often (my mother would be so proud)! Looking back and loving the photos from my friend's wedding this weekend where I wore a large statement earring as my key jewelry piece makes me I think I may just become an earring girl after all!

I LOVE these earring by Carol Marie. Usually you see black stones set in silver so I love how these one are black and gold - a color combo I tend to wear all year long. These three stone earrings have an almost gothic look to them that I think would compliment an all black, vampy look for Fall just perfectly. We'd love to see them paired with a low-cut v thin black sweater and high waisted skirt for a chic work look or with a simple wavy pony tail and LBD or even LRD (little red dress) for a night out on the town!

These Carol Marie earrings are available now at Shop Bop for $75.

How I Wore It Weekend - Bridesmaid Edition!

This weekend was super fun filled as one of my bff's from college (and sorority sister) got married in NYC! The bridesmaids wore gorg. charcoal grey chiffon Amsale gowns and the bride wore a Vera Wang design that was to die for (and very similar to Chelsea Clinton's style coincidentally!)

Here are some pictures of the wedding. I opted to go for a Grecian look to compliment the dress's flowy style with a half-up/half down wavy hair style. I kept the accessorizing simple as I was a bridesmaid after all, opting for silver statement chandelier earrings and a few thin Swarovski crystal bangles as my only jewelry. The beautiful white and blush rose mix bouquet also adds to the overall look.
