Bling Fest

It's been a while since I have done a daily bling post - been busy, busy, busy with my day job this winter and just exhausted at night. Such is life I suppose, and no real excuse, but for my loyal BBB readers craving some bling - this post's for you!

I thought I'd break down some of my favorite pieces for Spring - so check it!

The original "celeb-socialite-jewelry designer", Nicole Richie, never disappoints with House of Harlow. Her aztec pieces for Spring/Summer 2011 feature a lot of turquoise and black - I'd wear this pendent on a fresh all white look.

Two things I love? Bright colors and wrap bracelets you can pile up your wrist. This Tory Burch piece embodies both with a girly flair. Perfect for the office, Sunday brunch , a tennis match - whatever!

Did I mention I love neons? Tory Burch is certainly bringing the fun with this other lust-worthy piece from her Spring line. Bright pink, yellow and turqouise beading and rubber knot "charms" makes this necklace unique, fresh and a perfect bathing suit compliment!

Fall's Hottest Handbags Revealed

It's recently occurred to me that I haven't done a post on one of my most favorite accessories in quite some time -the handbag! I am definitely a purse gal but somehow this season there haven't been too many bags to catch my eye. However, there a select few that I am just lusting after.

Daily Bling - Friday, August 6

Who doesn't love a good designer collaboration? Kara Ross, one of our favorite jewelry designers, has teamed up with Tory Burch, one of our favorite accessories designers, for a limited edition line of jewelry available now at ToryBurch.com. The collection featured various abstract takes on the classic "evil eye" symbol taking form in resin and metal cuffs, rings, earrings and even a statement bib necklace made of a bizillion little evil eyes.

Our favorite from the line? This super cool gold, blue and white resin cuff. At first glance we didn't even realize it was an evil eye, which is part of the reason we love the look. It's an out of the box take on the classic symbol we see in charm jewelry all the time.

It takes a lot to get me out of my relaxed, summer-loving style mode. But what get's me every end of July? The debut of the Fall collections, of course! We are just starting to check out the Fall collections and so far we are most impressed by Tory Burch's shoe selection for the season. And it's not just the Reva's that are getting us this year. It's the too cute for words booties that we are dying for. Utilitarian, chains, buckles and more fun - TB has a bootie for every girl's unique sense of style.

Wedding Wednesdays!

Summer is in full swing which means Wedding season is officially upon us! With bachelorette and showers behind us, its time to concentrate on the main event - the Wedding. It can be pretty hard to figure out what to wear to a wedding, especially without completly breaking the bank. We are starting a new series for the month of June here on Booties, Bags, and Baubles called Wedding Wednesdays. Each week we will break down a different look dependent on the type of wedding you'll be attending: Beach, City, Destination, etc.

Week 1 is Country Club Wedding Week. We thought we'd start off the series with the wedding that everyone has been to or will be going to this summer. Its most common in the summer to be attending a Country Club Wedding but getting the look down right for this one can be pretty challenging. Just because the reception may include an outdoor component doesn't mean you should show up in a sundress and flats yet the Country Club setting makes the wedding more relaxed in feel then a city soiree. Our tip? Go for a classic cocktail dress and accessorize it with a lower-heeled open toe sandal and some soft accessories.

We love this jeweled embellished cocktail dress with shades of blue colorblock. The dress has just the right amount of dressy bling to take it into evening yet the style isnt overpowering for the day. The striped tee. It's an essential for your summer wardrobe as dubbed by all the major fashion mags and we have to agree! Shoe Trends from High to Low

There are so many cool, new trends for Spring shoes. From clogs to wedges, studded gladiators to open toe booties and much more - Spring's shoes trends are a little tougher then what we have seen in the past few seasons, but super fun and very unique. Furthermore, we are seeing these hot trends come right off the runway and hit our local malls faster than we ever thought possible!

Are you ready for this Jelly?

I couldn't resist borrowing from the classic Destiny's Child song for this post's title. Spring has sprung and brought back a bunch of lovely trends for us to choose from - the floral look, the military look, even the modified boho look. But jelly shoes? Cute like they were in elementary school or cute like we actually want to rock them now?

Some of our fav. designers are showing jellies in their Spring collections and we actually think that they are very fun and very wearable! Our only caution? We would save them for when the heat kicks in poolside with a cute summer sundress or jersey jumper. We just dont think the jellies cut it for a night out on the town or at a corporate office. When In Rome... Do The Gladiator!

As I begin to check out all the Spring Accessories collections there is one trend that I am glad to see is still MAJORLY in style - gladiator sandals! I love gladiator sandals because they are super easy to wear and dress up summer sun dresses just as nice as many of their heeled counterparts do. I also think my inner hippie cannot resist the boho glam look of the gladiator sandal.

This year studded gladiators in black and our favorite hues of the season, blush and flesh-tones, are really hot.
